Animas High School is a public, free charter school in Durango, Colorado. They offer a rigorous, personalized college preparatory curriculum that is engaging and meaningful. They deliver their curriculum through projects. That means that their students have the opportunity to apply their learning through relevant, real-world experiences. They have based their school off of a wildly popular and successful model from California called High Tech High. Together they are accomplishing great things! AHS Student Council is dedicated to increasing student voice among our school and community and encourage positive school culture. We strive to make our school a fun, engaging, supportive environment where students feel comfortable voicing their thoughts and opinions. We are here to serve the students -- this includes attending school board and committee meetings, organizing school-wide events, and more.
Mission Statement: Animas High School’s Student Council serves as a platform for all students to bring about attainable and recognizable change within Animas High School in cooperation with faculty, students, the Board of Directors, and the community.
